Hey gang, we’ll be live tonight at the usual time. We’ll be on Twitter (X), Rumble, Odysee and You Tube. This email will try to explain where silver and gold legislation are right now as we only have 2 weeks left of session.

As many of you know, Senator Eigel was able to third read SB735 in the Senate on Monday, April 29th. The vote total in the Senate (included below) was 21-10 in favor of the bill. Daniel Diaz (Citizens for Sound Money) and I were at the capitol all day Monday whipping votes (as was Senator Eigel) until the last second before the vote on the Senate floor. Thank you to EVERYONE who called and emailed Senators in the past two weeks. This REALLY helped to make a difference.

The bill has now been 1st and 2nd read in the House and has been assigned to Bill Hardwick’s committee – Emerging Issues. It is there the hearing will be conducted on Monday, May 6th at 2:00PM. Since we are working for a quick turnaround in committee, no one is being asked to testify. This is important, please do NOT show up at the capitol to testify on this bill. The hearing date was a special dispensation for the bill and the hearing MUST be short because of time constraints. However, we should be filling out witness forms for SB735. The link is here. I am asking for everyone to do a witness form. These can and do help, especially if hundreds of forms are filled out supporting the bill.

CALL TO ACTION

It’s time to call/email our reps once again and keep the energy up for SB735. Focus on your rep directly. You may have called and emailed them before on the Constitutional Money Act but it is time to remind them and to ask them to do something for you. We should all be asking our Representatives to meet with Representative Plocher to move the bill along as fast as possible. Again, this MUST be a positive campaign. So let’s stay positive and share our enthusiasm about the bill and WHY it is important for Missouri. Equally important, are the witness forms. PLEASE fill out a witness form before noon on Monday the 6th. Share this information and have your friends and family also fill out witness forms. Let’s try to get 500 or more forms filled out in support of the bill.

It’s important to know this isn’t just happening in Missouri. Approximately 9 states have legislation completed that are moving toward gold and silver legal tender and some have already been signed by their respective governors. I will be creating a flyer for this VERY soon and we’ll discuss these legislative success stories a bit tonight on the stream.

REGULAR BUSINESS

Recently, I was on a new radio show on NewsTalkSTL based in St. Louis, called the Robb Carter show. Daniel Diaz has also been on the show and so has Lori Rook (running for state treasurer). Robb’s show aligns very closely with the Missouri Freedom Initiative’s goals and charter so I suspect he’ll be interviewing a lot of candidates and grassroots leaders in Missouri this spring and summer.

Yesterday, Daniel and I were invited by Locke and Smith Foundation’s Tom Martz on the Nick Reed show on https://ksgf.com. During the 3 hour visit, Stacy Shore with Shield Maidens of Missouri joined us and in the last hour, Senator Mike Moon joined us as well. You can hear the show in parts. The first hour with Daniel, Tom and I. The second hour which Stacy Shore joins and the third hour with Mike Moon.

Now, a bit more about Senator Mike Moon. Moon has been a stalwart and ferocious defender of the US Constitution and the Missouri Constitution. He is the Senator of district 29, which includes a large chunk of S.W. Missouri. Mike took on a LOT of fire last year as his bill (SB49) was going through the legislature, a bill the Missouri Freedom Initiative was PROUD to support and work alongside other grassroots organizations. The S.A.F.E. Act was comprehensive protection of children in Missouri from transitioning from one gender to another before the age of 18. He has done so much more but that victory was HUGE and it started a direct attack on him which has culminated in establishment politicians with deep pockets to challenge his seat in the Missouri Senate. For someone who votes ONLY constitutionally in the legislature and wants to protect kids this is somewhat of conundrum. Why would establishment republicans want to replace a Senator who ACTUALLY follows his oath of office and listens to his constituents? The answer is OBVIOUS, the establishment wants Mike unseated so they do not have to put up with a Senator that votes constitutionally and is one of the precious few oath keepers representing the people in Jefferson City. Mike Moon is a HUGE supporter for the Missouri Constitutional Money Act (SB735) and is in fact, the FIRST to co-sponsor the bill. Mike is also a friend to all conservative grassroots organizations and has made his office available to them for the past 12 years (8 years in the House, 4 years in the Senate).

Although the Missouri Freedom Initiative as an organization does not endorse candidates, we should most certainly support the people we want in office as individuals. Mike Moon is my Senator and I am quite proud of the work he has done and he has my full support. In lieu of this, I wanted to make sure folks know about his campaign kick-off on May 11 (next Saturday) in Nixa, Missouri. Representative Eric Burlison will be there along with MANY grassroots leaders supporting Mike Moon. I will be there as well. I encourage everyone who can come to this event to be there. It is VERY important that we keep Senator Moon in the Senate. It is equally important that we show our support for his candidacy as he is being challenged by an establishment republican who clearly does not appreciate Mike’s constitutional stance in the general assembly. Happy Saturday gang. As always, a lack of time prevents a more detailed email but I think I will send a second e-mail tomorrow for things that need to be on all of our radars. We have 3 weeks left of session in the Missouri legislature. It’s going to be filled with spills and chills and gut wrenching twists and turns as it is most years at this time. However, it’s important to stay the course on silver and gold legislation as it will be on the Senate floor on Monday (2 days from now). Right now, the email from last week is still EXTREMELY important, so I will copy and paste the last email call to action.

CALL TO ACTION

Senator Karla May can be emailed here and her office phone number is 573-751-3599. Let’s make sure Senator May knows how much we appreciate her vote on SB735. Senator May was interviewed by the film crew for the sound money TV show because she was the only Democrat to vote “yes” in the Senate last year on SB100. She is a trail blazer on this issue for her party and should be a considered source of encouragement for the Democrats to support sound money legislation.

Next is Senator Mary Elizabeth Coleman. Although Senator Coleman did not vote during the roll call, she did co-sponsor the bill during the perfection process. We need to call and email Senator Coleman and thank her for co-sponsoring SB735 and let her know we look forward to her “yes” vote on third read for final Senate passage of the bill. Next is Senator Lincoln Hough. Senator Hough voted yes last year on SB100 but declined to vote on the roll call yesterday for SB735. Senator Lincoln Hough wants to be the next Lt. Governor of the state of Missouri. Let’s let him know that declining to vote on the SB735 roll call (which is quickly headed on its way into the Missouri Republican platform) does not show leadership, it shows weakness. We expect more from someone who wants to be Lt. Governor especially since sound money is quickly making its way to the Missouri Republican platform. Senator Hough’s office number is 573-751-1311. Finally, four Senators that need some extreme encouragement.

Senator Mike Cierpoit was the ONLY republican Senator to vote “no” on SB100 last year. To no one’s surprise, he voted “no” on the SB735 yesterday. Let him know what you think of his vote. Senator Justin Brown voted “yes” on SB100 last year but voted “no” on the roll call vote yesterday on SB735. It’s Friday gang and there is a lot to report on but for lack of time before I head out to work, I’ll keep this as short and to the point as possible. Not going to talk about SB727 in this. This is about the Constitutional Money Act.

Senator Eigel’s SB735 (The Constitutional Money Act) had floor time on Thursday and a “roll call” vote was taken. The vote came in 17 yes, 13 no and 4 absent. This was not a vote to pass the bill, it was a vote to see what the temperature was and if folks who voted yes last year would vote no this year. It was a mixed bag. We have some work to do. We expect a third read and vote on SB 735 next week, most likely Thursday.

Before the call to action, I want to remind everyone that the last month of session is an emotional roller coaster. What’s worse it changes every day from good news to bad news and back again. This is the same every year. For those that were with us during the SAPA legislation of 2021, you’ll probably remember this.

Attached to this email is an image of the roll call votes in the Senate. First and foremost, we need to send some love to Democrat Senator Karla May, the ONLY Democrat to vote yes on the SB735 roll call vote (and SB100 last year)! We can certainly recognize and appreciate her willingness to vote yes on a sound money bill that most democrats in the general assembly do not want no matter how much their constituents want it.

We’re in the final month of the session (last day is May 17). Let’s keep working this and get it done. I spent a lot of time at the capitol this past week and am behind in my job. I am playing catch up once again and may have to work tomorrow (unfortunately). News Letter Update, April 16

Hey gang, a Tuesday email! That must mean something? It does. I am going to give you a situation report on what I know so far.

Regarding SB735, HB1955 and SB835 (The Constitutional Money Act). Let’s start with HB1955.

HB1955 (Bill Hardwick) has just been reported out Financial Institutions after an 11 week vacation under the watchful eye of Michael O’Donnell (slow walking the bill – one of the many ways to kill a bill) it has FINALLY been reported in the rules committee. This bill was replaced by a new bill written by O’Donnell. The new bill only has legal tender, removal of capital gains and the language to prevent confiscation. That’s where it is, not much we can do on that one right now but amendments are being drafted to fix the bill.

SB835 (Sandy Crawford – amended with SB735) has left the Senate and has landed squarely in Financial Institutions where presumably it will get the same language treatment that HB1955 got from O’Donnell in this committee. It will most likely have a hearing soon in this committee. Any amendments drafted for HB1955 can be used on SB835. Also, if SB835 makes it through the process in the house it will most likely go to a conference committee where it may be repaired as well.

SB735 (Bill Eigel) has been patiently waiting for its time on the Senate floor. Two times this week, it was promised floor time in the Senate but the promises unfortunately were broken. We have a call to action on this one. Cindy O’Laughlin is the floor leader of the senate and is responsible for the calendars and schedule. This is where the pressure is needed.

Before I go forward with the information, I want to impress upon everyone that ALL communication with Representatives and Senators should be cordial and positive. Calling and emailing with anger does nothing except hurt any cause you have. Persistence and perseverance is always encouraged. When calling and emailing about silver and gold bills, stay positive and even try to smile a bit when on the phone, believe it or not, that often helps. Calling and emailing Senator Cindy O’Laughlin, the floor leader of the Senate is something I ask everyone to do, and to please do it soon. The clock is ticking.

An example of the communication could be: “Hello Senator, I am calling/emailing to ask about SB735, the gold and silver bill. I noticed it was supposed to be on the floor two times this week but it was never heard. I understand you run the floor calendar for the Senate and was wondering if you could get this important bill to the floor ASAP. This bill is important for our state and is something the Missouri government can do to help every citizen in the state to have another option for transactional money that does not lose value to inflation like the dollar does.”

Now on to SB727. This bill has been the BIG controversial bill of the year. Almost everyone hates it with good reason. See the attached email copy from Shield Maidens in the last email. Anyway, tomorrow (Wednesday, April 17) we’ll knock and shock this monstrosity. Please join us in the capitol tomorrow (Wednesday) at 9:00AM to 5:00PM to pressure the House to dispatch this nightmarish bill and either amend it until it stops smelling like bat feces or just put this bill out of its misery. It may be on the floor tomorrow (Wednesday).

Parking at the capitol: I usually park downhill from St. Peter’s Church in any of 3 free parking zones. Here is a capitol map for parking.

Conceal Carry in the capitol: If you have a state issued CCW permit, you can carry your weapon in the capitol. If you are Constitutional carry, you cannot carry in the capitol. You can always leave your weapon at home base (Representative Bill Hardwick’s office Room 205).

Lunch boxes and jackets: Since Bill Hardwick’s office is our official home base for this event, you can leave lunchboxes and coats in Bill’s office.

Meeting place: We will meet in the rotunda at 9:00AM on the first floor. This is easy to find, in fact you really can’t miss it as you have to go through security before entering the building which is right outside the rotunda.

Flyers: I encourage everyone to consider making their own flyers. If you cannot, flyers will be provided that you can use.

Team Leaders: Team leaders for knock and shock are voluntary. Team leaders are usually spokespeople for the group they lead. Folks who have never done this before will quickly learn from veteran team leaders who will be there just by watching and listening. Talking with a rep is just like talking to your neighbor, there is nothing to have anxiety over.

Special News Letter, April 15

It’s Monday. I am going up to the capitol today for some SB735 (Constitutional Money Act) business but wanted to get this email out before heading to Jeff City.

On Wednesday, folks can join Travis & Rivkah (Prepared Homestead), Kirby Lane (Rogue Politics) and I (as well as many other grassroots leaders) as we let the legislature know one more time that SB727 is simply not acceptable as written. I have included the official Missouri Freedom Initiative flyer that we will be handing out to reps on Wednesday. The event is from 9:00AM to 5:00PM. Many folks can’t stay that long, other folks can’t show up until the afternoon. This is fine and is standard fare for knock and shock operations.

It is important for people to understand that we, in the Initiative HAVE shut down bills before. We have joined forces with other grassroots in Missouri to do so as well. We’ve been very successful in doing so in the past. SB727 is quite different for many reasons but this is truly an all hands on deck moment. Please consider joining us at the capitol on Wednesday. I realize this is short notice and I am sorry for that but it is necessary that we do this, one more time to either amend or kill this bill.

News Letter April 12

Happy Saturday gang. Unfortunately, we will not have a live stream tonight. In the past 3 weeks I have spent a lot of time in the capitol and on Missouri business. At this time, I have customers who have patiently waited for me and now they must receive my full attention so I am working at a customer site today and tonight.

I regret we can’t do a live stream tonight. There has been a LOT of talk about SB727 and the possibility of home schools being classified as “gun free zones.” A lot of folks have e-mailed, called texted and tagged me on social media about this issue. Aaron Dorr (Missouri Firearms Coalition) and Ron Calzone (Missouri First) have chimed in as well as many others. The fact is, there is a LOT wrong with SB727. Kirby Lane (Rogue Politics) has outlined many issues with the bill as have others. In the Initiative, we have a flyer that was distributed this last week at the capitol about 727’s Constitutional and technical problems and about collecting data on the kids (leading to class wallets and a form of social credit scoring). This is something we are more familiar with. As with each grassroots group, we have our own area of expertise. Some attorneys find fault with the 2^nd amendment issue others do not. It’s a speculative issue on the status of gun ownership at a home school. There is a lot to dislike in this bill.

It all comes down to the vouchers and what the government demands of the people in order to get financial assistance for education. The entire idea about school vouchers began decades ago but it was very different from what we have today. In the beginning of the term “school vouchers” and “school choice” were designed as no strings attached vouchers. What many folks (such as myself) learned recently, is that government will NEVER have “no strings attached” vouchers. There will always be strings. What we must decide as a society is how much control over our kids and mediocre curriculum we are willing to tolerate for “free” school or vouchers. For all homeschoolers I have personally communicated with, the answer is bold and simple… “no strings.” If strings exist, they want NOTHING to do with the money (and legislation). They want OUT of the bill completely – as in absolutely no legislative definition for “home school” included in the bill.

In other states such as West Virginia and North Carolina legislative definitions for FPE (Family Paced Education) and home school were exactly the same minus the vouchers (under PFE). What we have learned is that some states conjoin the definitions for FPE and Home school that places homeschooled kids under the same parameters as FPE even though the home schools do not take the voucher. This is ABSOLUTELY an unacceptable scenario with broad ramifications.

The next question is why politicians are not listening to us, the grassroots on this issue, why the rumor of no amendments for SB727 in the house to repair this deeply flawed legislation, why the attacks from conservative politicians…etc. The answer is quite simple…money. A LOT of money has gone into this bill to try to ensure its passage. Millions of dollars from questionable sources has poured into Missouri PACs (Political Action Committees) to try to get this bill through. Republicans and Democrats alike have received this money. The story is as old as time itself. As a reminder of the 45 steps to Communism, here is step 17… “17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers’ associations. Put the party line in textbooks.” The irony is, this bill would be MUCH more acceptable IF DESE (Department of Elementary and Secondary Education) was reduced to about 3% of its current size and scope.

The soft integration of DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion), SEL (Social Emotional Learning), Common Core, CRT (Critical Race Theory) and others are inherently Marxist ideas and techniques. It’s part of the Prussian model for schools in communist countries. The idea is for the schools to churn out workers who cannot critically think. Communist nations depend heavily on this model to prevent revolutions and general dissidence of folks unhappy with totalitarian leadership and the iron grip of oppressive government. This is not tinfoil hat stuff, this is unfortunately our reality now. Parents who have their children in the public school system need to pay attention like they did when schools closed over the “scamdemic.” Exploring ideas from differing perspectives and analyzing the results is a process called “critical thinking.” Society has been trained to call critical thinkers “conspiracy theorists.” Unfortunately from my point of view, a lot of people who call folks “conspiracy theorists” suffer from a form of cognitive dissonance. Without critical thinking, we cannot solve problems with the best solutions. Without free speech, the best ideas lay dormant in someone’s mind rather than exploring the ideas and expanding on them in a public forum (think school board meetings).

Many folks I know personally have expressed something I personally agree with, get your kids out of the public school system no matter the personal cost. Choose another option even if it financially hurts. The wolf is not at the door because it’s already in the building. Reasonable people can disagree on how bad the public school system is. I talk with democrats from time to time and some do agree the public school system is dumbing down the kids. However, it is personally disturbing to me how many parents are willing to cash in academic achievement for DEI and school sports. Bread and circuses.

With all this in mind, a lot of folks would like to show up in Jefferson City on Wednesday and I encourage folks to do this. I will definitely be there approximately 9:00AM. Among other things, it is important for our elected representatives to understand the resolve of the grassroots and the people. We do not care how much money they have received to further this issue legislatively. They are there to serve us. If they turn a deaf ear to the people, they must be replaced in November (or in the primary on August 6th). Create flyers with your concerns on SB727 and bring them with you. I did not envision this being the fight it has become however, the grassroots have coalesced into an impressive juggernaut to shut this legislation down. Even the public schools want this shut down but the public schools do not have the benefit of DESE to organize because DESE is for the bill as they stand to benefit from this. The public schools organized under MASA on this one for their appearance at the capitol to protest the bill.

As with most distractions, you have to use your peripheral vision to see what else is going on during the distraction. The Constitutional Money Act is still in play. I am working this hard as are MANY others. The call to action for this is quite simple. Please call/email your Senators and voice your support for SB735. This is important. Remember to communicate WHY the bill is important to you when you contact your Senator. I am working on a new flyer that will contain the Congressional Districts that are working to make gold/silver legal tender part of the Republic Platform that will be used next week..

To wrap up, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who is actively involved in the political process in Missouri. For most of us, it is an extreme sacrifice of our time and resources and there is no compensation other than the fact that we are doing our part to prevent Missouri from becoming Illinois. It is because of all of you that Missouri has a fighting chance to become much freer and liberty minded and Constitutional. For those who cannot get involved politically, I ask for constant prayers for those who are in the fight. Missouri is worth saving.

I will endeavor to get another email out soon with more details on Wednesday activities and the Constitutional Money Act but lack the time to do so today.
